I had so many plans for this weekend. You know the weekend, when you have this laundry list of items you were going to take care of and things you were going to get done. I wanted to get the bedroom closet situated (right now it is a mess), I wanted to finally get my Macbook connected to the Henge Dock I bought for it and get all the cables routed nice and neatly. Scarlett and I had plans to go out with my sister and brother-in-law Saturday night. I wanted to do an awesome day-long hike Saturday during the day as well. All these plans…

Arrive Saturday morning. I awoke with my throat feeling so raw that breathing through my one unclogged nostril felt like I was snorting bleach. I could barely swallow. I had eye crusties and my body was weak and achy. Yuck. I rolled out of bed and went downstairs to take some dayquil, then went back upstairs and went right back to bed. When I finally woke up for good I told Scarlett that there was just no way I was going to be able to do this day hike. I wasn’t feeling well. She suggested something a little lighter – how about going to the mall with Elizabeth to do a bit of clothes shopping?

Okay, so I hate clothes shopping when I’m feeling just fine, but for whatever reason I said sure and took off with them to the Flat Irons Mall. It wasn’t too bad at first. I managed to find some tops and shoes to buy (I’m in desperate need – pretty soon the homeless are going to start giving ME money), but within a little over an hour I was starting to wear down and faded fast thereafter. I got home and shot down some Sudaphed and chased it down with some NyQuil. I attempted to nap. No such luck. Lots of tossing and turning and laying there just miserable. Why doesn’t NyQuil work for me? Doesn’t that typically make people sleep? Isn’t that the NyQuil slogan “The nighttime sniffling sneezing coughing aching stuffy head fever s you can rest medicine”? What the hell?

So no hiking and certainly no clubbing Saturday night. Oh well. I probably needed the extra rest. Here it is Sunday, and I am still feeling like crap though better than I felt Saturday morning. Great, I love feeling better just in time for Monday!
