The last couple of days have been pretty exciting. My brother-in-laws birthday is this weekend and originally we were all going to just go to a really nice dinner in Denver. Then the snow started coming. Finally, the mountains are starting to powder up and Geoff is an avid snowboarder. He made a change of plans. Instead of spending a grand at a nice restaurant, why not rent a 3-bedroom condo up in Breckenridge? So that is where we are all heading this week. I have only snowboarded twice in my life and it didn’t end well for me. Plus it was a good 10 years ago. I’ve decided I’m going to try my hand at skiing this time.
Yesterday my sister took me out to help me pick out some essentials for this weekend. I bought a ski jacket, ski pants, pant liners, goggles, mittens, glove liners and ski socks — all for $550 — which I didn’t think was so bad. I was expecting to pay a lot more than that.
We’ll be driving up tomorrow night (Friday) and will be staying in Breckenridge until Sunday evening. Saturday I have my day already planned out with two ski courses. I’m being a lot smarter this time!
